SYNOPSIS

Christian Rodolf is an Ivorian asylum seeker who spent one year in the upper valley of Roncobello (BG) at the Extraordinary Reception Center (CAS) for asylum seekers. During his stay, Christian writes a manuscript about young African migrants, in which he retraces the stages of his migratory journey to Italy and shares his perspective on certain political and colonial issues in Africa.

The documentary is not directly inspired by the contents of the book; instead, it explores the context in which it was written and the motivations behind its creation. The film is shot in Roncobello, in places connected to life at the CAS, as well as inside the studio of the artist Alfredo Colombo, whom Christian meets for the first time during filming. Alfredo’s studio, a place of creation and preservation of material, thus becomes a theater for reflection and historical reclamation rooted in the experience of war.
